AndroidHordes - Today I am going to Share a tutorial regarding backup and restoring Baseband for any Qualcomm device. Many of the user has confessed that they have lost the baseband of their device while updating or flashing with custom rom and fastboot ROM. As a conclusion they have lost network and baseband showing "Unknown"
There was no such specific thread with all the steps and screen shot was not there and many users were confused to follow the steps. So I am sharing a very simple steps, it will take hardly 15 mins to back up and restore baseband for your device.

Pre Requirements :
  • A laptop/PC with win 7 OS and any bit is supported (I have used 32 bit)
  • A Phone with Qualcomm Processor and a USB cable. (Some device required Root permission)
  • MI flash / Mi Pc suite installed in your PC
  • Microsoft .net 4.5 or Upper Version installed in your PC
  • Qualcomm QPST & QXDM Professional (Download Here)
Steps :
  • Connect your phone with Compter/Laptop through USB cable
  • Now Activate Diag Port by dialing *#*#717717#8#* (Some device required root access to activate diag port)
  • Now check the option "Ports (COM & LTP)" under Device manager if any HS-USB MDM Diagonistic Ports are active or not.
  • If any HS-USB MDM Diagonistic not available then you need to update your driver first by going to Device Manager Option.
  • Now right click on ADB Interface and select Update Driver software --> Browse my computer for software --->Let me pick From a list...--->Next --->Have Disk ---> Browse ---> Now locate the folder (C:\Program Files\Xiaomi\MiPhone\Qualcomm\Driver) and select qcser.inf----> Now click on ok---> Now select randomly 4-5 "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics certificates and install.

 




    • Once you get HS-USB MDM Diagonistic driver active under device manager then you need to Open "QPST Configuration" from Start-->all programme--> QPST configuration
    • Now Click on Port and disable all the ports except on which is showing phone name like" MSM****)
      • Now Click on Start Clients from the menu and select "Software Download"
      • Now Click on Back up Tab ---> now click on Browse for xQCN File
      • Now Select the Path where you want to save back up file and Put a name for the file and select file extension as .qcn /*.qcn
       
      • Now Click on Start and wait for the process to be completed 
      • Now You are ready with backup your baseband!! Enjoy!!
      For Restoring your baseband in case you have messed with it while flashing :
      • Follow all the steps till QPST Software Download Page
      • Now Click on Restore tab and click on Browse (xQCN File) for the back up file you saved with .qcn /*.qcn extension.
      • Now click on open and click on start wait for the process to be complted once it complted restart you phone (Don't tick on Allow phone/file ESN mismatch)
      • Now you have restored your baseband and you will get your network back!!
